  • A vacation you will always remember, and a cabin that you will long to come back to. Imagine yourself in the peaceful mountains of North Georgia, the vast resources of the Chattahoochee National Forest right in your backyard. Add to that picture an upscale Barna Log Cabin with all the amenities to make your stay perfect, and you have the Appalachian. The Appalachian is an open floorplan cabin with Harper Creek bordering on one side of the property. A large stone fireplace in the great room is the focal point of the entire cabin. Running from floor to ceiling, it can be enjoyed from the entire cabin. The beauty of natural aged wood throughout accentuates the 'Early American' interior, complete with antiques and quilts. Downstairs, the master bedroom opens into the great room. The bedroom has plenty of natural light during the day. The solid oak queen bed and the antique dresser adds to the beauty of the bedroom. Also on the downstairs level is the kitchen, fully equipped and waiting for you to add the food and cozy dining. The bathroom is also worthy of note; spotlessly clean upon your arrival, the antique decor includes a pedestal sink and a unique clawfoot bathtub that can be converted to a shower in the traditional manner. Lets take a walk upstairs to the loft and visit the area where the kids will be sleeping. They can sit and watch as the last embers of the fire glow before they climb into their beds after an adventurous day in the mountains. This is going to be a vacation they will always remember, and a cabin that they will beg to come back to. The deck, which is a part of the large wrap-around porch, boasts a 'Hot Springs' hot tub. One can also sit in one of the Adirondack chairs or one of the rockers and just enjoy the sounds and sights of the mountains. Just a short walk down a private path, one can cross a bridge that spans Harper Creek, and emerge from the forest, finding themselves at the edge of the 8 acre field. Be sure to bring your fishing gear so you can reap the benefits of a stocked trout pond.
